Mohammed Alhashmi is an accomplished leader with more than 28 years of public and private sector experience. As the Senior Vice President, Information, Communication Technology (ICT) at Expo 2020 Dubai, he leads a team of information technology professionals and Premium Partners responsible for delivering one of the most advanced and innovative World Expo’s in the event’s 167-year history.
Prior to Expo, Mohammed served as Director General of the Gulf Business Foundation, a leading supplier of aerospace and aviation technologies, corporate investments, corporate office solutions, hospitality as well as industrial solutions throughout the Middle East.
Mohammed started his career in 1989 with Dubai Aluminium (now part of Emirates Global Aluminium, the world’s fifth largest aluminium smelter), where he served as Manager of IT Services. During that period until 2006, Mohammed gained incremental technical and managerial experience in the various ICT verticals including, ICT operations, application development, information security and ICT service delivery. From 2006 to 2008, he led the award-winning implementation of SAP R/3, the enterprise resource planning solution, at DUBAL.
In 2008, Mohammed joined Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority as Executive Director Corporate Support where he was responsible for different business units including ICT, procurement, logistics, administration, safety, security and environment. He was also given further responsibilities as Executive Director, adding Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications to his portfolio. He continued to lead various technology transformations, sustainability and business process optimisation initiatives.
